It's been a wild and complicated past few months for us and last week was busy. We didn't have a usual learning week last week so I am wanting to carry the past two themes that I feel are important into this next week and we will adjust. It's all about being flexible and adjusting to what life throws at you sometimes, right! :) I hope you've had a wonderful month and are having a great time learning and exploring!
Here are some suggestions for March:
St. Patrick's Day
Value/Topic: Wonder, Science, Colors, Imagination

There are so many fun things you can do for this magical holiday! We usually like to eat green foods (or make typically non-green foods- green ;), make and eat fun snacks, wear green, talk about rainbows and colors (and the science behind rainbows) -even do a science experiment, make leprechaun masks, and of course talk a little about Ireland, where this holiday originates from :)
Insects
Value/Topic: Science, Nature, Wonder, Respect

Insects are fascinating! With so many different types to discover and learn about, there is a lot you can do with this theme! Watch some educational video clips, talk about the ways that different insects help us, make insect crafts, and go outside and see what types of insects are right in your own backyard! You might have to wait until the weather gets a little warmer in your area to find more insects, but some of the places they love to hunker down are under the soil, rocks, leaves, or wood.
Spring
Value/Topic: Science, Seasons, Weather, Baby Animals, etc!...

We celebrate the first day of Spring at the end of March! In many areas, the weather will start to get a little warmer. This is a great time to talk about seasons and appropriate clothing for the weather! Spring is also the time to talk about and even take a mini field trip to see baby animals! Flowers start to bloom and birds and other animals are more abundant and out and about. There is a lot to see and do in the Spring!
💚Each of these themes would also make for great sensory bins! 💚
